Hawke Robinson Status Update: A Wide Variety of Tech Projects in December
This is a very short summary of some projects I worked on so far this month:
-
HealthCare Third-Party Administration - WebTPA.com SSO contract project continuing the work in dart/flutter and Azure infrastructure SAML XML custom policies, setting up full IdP, CA, SP, end-to-end, getting near code-freeze and launch deadlines in the next few weeks. Getting near the end of this contract. This has been the lion's share of my work time of late as we get close to wrapping this up. - Healthcare Third Party Administration.
-
EduTech - PracticingMusician.com Platform version 3 (PMP3) - continuing progress on the Janssen IAM and Flutter SSO and API connections to XWiki, Moodle, Janssen, ERPNext, MediaCMS, AI (LLM, SLM, & MoE) tools training and updates, AI tools integration with the other platform components, Matrix, & Jitsi. - EduTech.
-
Blockchain - PMP3 - researching potential of adding blockchain to platform to handle some stringent PII requirements from some school districts while still being able to track student's progress, allow teachers and parents to track progress, while keeping PII as close to anonymous as possible through unique blockchain identifiers, and maybe also incorporate NFTs as part of the LMS gamification. Blockchain and EduTech.
-
AI ASR NLP Video Conferencing and Live Event Tech - Side project based on https://github.com/alphacep/vosk-server - working on some updates to a project I did a few years ago, for the Automatic Speech Recognition Natural Language Processing (ASR NLP) real-time closed captioning with language translation (that outperformed Google in speed by 150% and accuracy by 30% back in 2022) and with profanity filtering customized Vosk + Jitsi + Matrix video conferencing tools to work with other environments (previously only worked in on-prem Xen and AWS cloud, porting to have newer updates from the older code base and to get working in Azure while maintaining and improving functionality in the other environments (self-hosted Xen cloud as well as AWS). Originally required 4 CPUs and 8 GB ram per ASRNLP bot in each room, was able to whittle that down to 1 CPU and 0.5GB ram per agent per room. There have been some changes in the upstream opensource community code that it pulls from (I did contribute back when I was last working on it), so I need to merge those changes and see how it does now. I am mostly tied up with the WebTPA project, but made a smidgeon of progress getting setup to work on this again. AI, Events, & Media tech.
-
AI EduTech - Side project: Created early prototype of a self-hosted tutoring tool with self-hosted AI and React interface (may port to Flutter), that dynamically adapts to one's studying needs with iterative differential learning feedback. I am mostly tied up with WebTPA, but took just a couple hours "break" to flesh out this idea from scratch and get a working prototype up and running in about 2 hours. AI & EduTech.
-
Gaming Tech - GameConsent.com some progress made on this app's back end and front end development. Gaming tech.
-
NeuroTech - Accessibility Tech BCIRPG.com project: weekly team coordination, architecture design updates, github and project management updates, improvements to the Godot code base. Brain-Computer Interface and gaming NeuroTech.
-
Mixed Reality Gaming - ZDayCity.com project some updates to the overall architecture design and some early code stubs for the Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality components, and the tie-ins with the AI components. xR & NeuroTech.
-
Non-Profit - RpgResearch.com quarterly board meeting and 2025 planning for the 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
-
Mental Health Tech - Recreational Therapy / RPG Therapy / HealthTech - Rpg.LLC RPG Therapeutics updates to Odoo, Modoboa, professional training manual, workbooks, and workshops, and other infrastructure and content updates.
Just an average day in the life. :)
Frequently Asked Question related to this:
"Impressive range of projects, Hawke Robinson! It’s inspiring to see such versatility across industries and technologies. How do you prioritize learning and staying updated with so many domains?" *
In answer to this oft-asked question:
Ahtisham Farooq Combo of my R&D projects running preparing decades ahead (e.g. www.bcirpg.com), conceptual schema growth mind-mapping, JITC (just in-time "compiling") approach to soaking up information I need at the time, cognitive neuropsychology & neuroscience, & my variant 80/20 rules. https://www2.techtalkhawke.com/news/80-of-projects-and-companies-dont-need-100-custom-coding
I can ramp up most "new" tech (& other) info very quickly, so as business goals evolve, or industries transition, I'm able to adeptly pivot.
Also, I have enough experience overall that general patterns & cycles become clearer, are universally applicable, & that makes it much easier when seeing second, third, or even fourth iterations of "what once was old is new again".
I am often far ahead due to this longitudinal view combined with constant R&D.
I have my own in-house cloud that lets me more affordably experiment.
I've been creating many of my own various "AI" bots, assistants, agents, & tools on & off for decades, so I have a very broad toolset & personal infrastructure that help me get a lot more done than any one human could do on their own.
Ultimately I am voracious life-long learner also scooping up information and practical solutions. :)
